利用辐射防治贮粮、食品、检疫害虫等,具有方法简单、效果显著、可以穿透包装物而直接杀死内部的害虫,和一次投资、多年受益等优点。先进国家在50年代已开始研究,60年代逐步应用于生产(详见表)。我国自1960年开展此项工作,目前有关食品的辐射治虫因涉及食品卫生法,正待国家批准,不久即可用于生产,至于辐射用于防治图书档案和家俱等害虫。由于可不考虑辐射安全性的卫生标准,已可推广投产应用。
