钻机的自动化既可以降低人力成本和施工风险,又可以促进钻井作业效率的提高。现阶段对陆地钻机的要求是更加智能、更加安全和更加自动化,自动化钻机技术是现阶段最为重要的研究课题之一。我国在这一方面已经处于领先地位,其已经彻底取代以往的钻井设备,提高作业的质量与效率,并降低了各项作业成本,降低了海外作业的风险。成套钻机自动化控制系统是对钻机自动化的优化和升级,其可以有效促进钻机自动化的进一步发展。除此以外,海洋钻机也可以借鉴陆地钻机自动化技术能力,提高整个钻机行业的技术水准。
