The China Metal Society’s Cast Iron Pipe Committee and China Town Water Supply Association held a symposium in Beijing on July 8, 1998 to discuss the development direction of cast iron pipes. The leaders of the Chinese Water Association, Xiao Shaojun, the Secretary-General of the China Iron Council, Li Changhe, the Beijing Municipal Engineering Research Institute, Shougang, Angang, Beijing Water Supply Company, and Sichuan Jianyang Casting Plant attended the meeting. . The meeting discussed the development direction of the cast iron pipe in the self-produced water industry in the future. The Chinese Water Association secretary-general Xiao Shaoyu reiterated that the selection of pipes in the water supply industry is still based on the “Technical progress and development plan of the 2000 urban water supply industry”: “The basic principle for selecting pipes is: Can withstand the required internal pressure And external loads, reliable performance, low maintenance workload, convenient construction, long service life, smooth internal walls, basically the same water supply capacity, and low cost, taking into consideration the above factors, starting from China’s national conditions, the general considerations are as follows: ) Pipes with ≤ 200mm can be used as long as the flexible interface is used, but the basic trend is to use plastic pipes.(2) 300~1000mm ductile iron pipe is the ideal pipe, and the as-cast ductile iron pipe can basically Avoid pipe explosion and other factors, the price is cheaper, is the current choice of pipe. " The National Science Council Blue Book pointed out that priority should be given to the development of ductile iron pipes.
