In the near future, Vietnam will have the hope of exporting dragon fruit to Australia and Japan. Recently, experts from the Australian Department of Agriculture and Water Resources have started field trips to Vietnam’s provinces to assess their dragon fruit production, packaging and exports. According to experts, once a product is allowed to enter the Australian market, the door will also be opened in other markets. The field trip by the plant protection department is the last step before Australia opens up its market to Vietnam’s dragon fruit. To protect the interests of stakeholders, the Australian government will issue a draft of the relevant assessment report by the end of this year and may allow Vietnam to be imported by the end of this year or early next year
