2011年11月19日,今日美术馆由黄笃策划的雅尼斯·库奈里斯“演绎中国”个展开幕。展览既是艺术家对中国思考的独有创作,又是他在中国的首次个展。作品集中呈现了对中国社会和文化的分析,库奈里斯秉承其惯用材料的方法——煤炭、钢板、铜板、麻袋、木头等,也大量采用了中国元素——古老的瓷片、瓷碗、白布以及军大衣,将它们与钢板组成了不同的图案形式和物质关系。
On November 19, 2011, the Art Museum of China today was run by Janis Cunellis, curated by Huang Du, at the Solo Exhibition “China.” The exhibition is both an artist’s unique creation of Chinese thinking and his first solo exhibition in China. The work presents a comprehensive analysis of Chinese society and culture. With its traditional materials, Kouneriis uses coal, steel, copper, sacks, and wood as well as Chinese elements - ancient porcelain plates, porcelain bowls, White cloth and army coat, they formed with the steel plate in different patterns and material relations.
