陈琦:评选不只是对参选的作品做出准确的学术评价,更是一种文化观念与艺术标准的弘扬与确立。这就要求评委本身具有鲜明的学术主张,这种学术主张须建立在对艺术史深刻理解的基础之上与对当下艺术情境的熟悉之中;评委须熟知中外版画发展历程以及不同版种的技术流变历程与其语言特征;同时多少还须了解其他国家、民族的历史、文化及艺术。这样才有可能在如此众多的参选作品中精选出最具前沿精神价值的艺术作品。我想,这既是评选的原则,也是评委的学术良知与职责所在。

This requires the judges themselves have distinctive academic ideas, this academic advocate must be based on a profound understanding of art history and the current context of art familiar; judges must be familiar with the history of Chinese and foreign prints and different versions of the technology Rheological process and its language features; at the same time how much must be aware of the history, culture and art of other countries and ethnic groups. Only in this way will it be possible to select the most cutting-edge spiritual works of art among so many participating works. I think this is both the principle of selection and the academic conscience and responsibility of judges.
