“地平线”项目,即欧洲海军通用型新一代护卫舰计划,由英国、法国和意大利三国共同发起,是未来20年欧洲海军最大的独立项目。英、法、意三国海军对该护卫舰的总需求将达到20艘。同时,这一项目还是英、法、意三国进行防务合作的一项十分重要的尝试。如果获得成功,它将成为在欧洲进行更大范围防务合作的催化剂。一旦失败,它将会阻碍今后欧洲各国之间的工业合作,并将影响军队之间标准化及互通性的进程。为此,三国政府对这一项目均十分重视。
The “Horizon” project, the European Navy universal new generation frigate program, co-sponsored by Britain, France and Italy, is the largest independent European Navy project for the next 20 years.
