自从1981年确认AIDS病以来,已有16,500以上的人诊断为AIDS病,其中40％已死亡。据目前估计,仅美国感染有该病原体——淋巴结病相关病毒和亲人类T淋巴细胞Ⅲ型病毒(LAV/HTLV-Ⅲ)的人就超过100万。其中大约10—20％表现出AIDS病症状。
More than 16,500 people have been diagnosed with AIDS since the identification of AIDS in 1981, of which 40% have died. It is currently estimated that there are over 1 million people in the U.S. alone infected with the disease-associated lymphadenopathy virus and human-derived T-lymphotropic virus type III (LAV / HTLV-III). About 10-20% of them show symptoms of AIDS.
