老年人便秘是临床常见的病症之一,尤其是在我们老干部病房更为多见,如果不及时加以防治,将可能导致心肌梗塞或脑血管意外等严重后果。对老年人便秘的防治应做到:(1)锻炼身体(如散步、走路、短跑),保持一定的运动量,卧床不起的病人要勤翻身或作腹部按摩。(2)多食纤维素蔬菜及新鲜瓜果,勿过食辛辣之物及饮酒过度。(3)积极治疗易引起便秘的原发性疾病,如直肠及肛门周围炎等。(4)尽可能避免使用引起便秘的药物,如钙剂、铁剂之类。
