Among scientists, Arno Motulsky, now 84, is known as the “father of pharmacogenomics.” In 1957, Dr. Motutzki, who was then a physician and researcher at the University of Washington, published an article that reported the negative interaction of two drugs with enzymes produced by certain human genes, I also wonder if this phenomenon exists in other medicines. As a result, the issue triggered a scholarly revolution (Motutzki is Jewish, grew up in Nazi Germany and left Europe to World War II). Not long ago, New York Times reporter Claudia Dreifus interviewed him about his childhood and the fact that 84-year-old was still stuck in the forefront of the laboratory. The following is an interview .
