Improvements in matched filters have enabled pulse compression radar systems to achieve their inherently low sidelobes. The system described in this paper uses a TB = 1000 signal with truncated Gaussian spectrum that gives a sidelobe of -46 dB, a mismatch loss of 0.002 dB, and a modest Doppler shift tolerance.
