中国林产工业协会红木行业特色区域命名专家评审会,于2012年12月在北京召开。评审小组由来自科研院所、高校、消费者协会、质检机构、家具企业及地方红木家具协会的行业专家组成,听取了大涌镇政府关于申报“中国红木产业之都”特色区域品牌工作的汇报。大涌镇红木家具制造业起步于20世纪70年代末期,随后经历了20多年的规模扩张。如今,红木家具制造业已成为大涌镇两大支柱产业之一。全镇现有红木企业335家,其中规模以上企业22家;省民营科技企业5家,市民营科技企业16家;6家企业获省名牌名标称号,7家企业先后获行业十大名牌企业称号,2003年,大涌镇获中国轻工联合会、中国家具协会授予的“中国红木家具生产专业镇”称号。2011年红木家具总产值为19.83亿元,比增24.59%,涌现出鸿发、红古轩、太兴、和兴、东成等一批龙头企业。
