Objective To quantitatively study the normal prostate in adults of different ages by using MRI to explore the imaging characteristics and the evolution of the senile changes of the senility. Materials and Methods 579 normal volunteers were selected and divided into five groups (20-29 years old, 30-39 years old, 40-49 years old, 50-59 years old, 60 years old or older) according to the different age groups. The total prostate and The central region of their respective diameter and volume values, and calculate the central volume of the total prostate volume ratio; measured in the central and peripheral prostate of the T1, T2 values, comparative analysis of the different characteristics of different ages above-mentioned measurements. Results The overall volume of the prostate was about 11.59 ~ 47.01cm3. The diameter of the upper and lower anterior, posterior diameter, left and right diameter, volume increased with age, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Prostate central volume of about 2.89 ~ 12.46cm3 between its diameter, anteroposterior diameter, left and right diameter, volume increases with age, the central volume accounted for the total volume of the prostate about 22% to 36%, which with age Increasing the proportion increased, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The T1 and T2 values of the peripheral zone in all age groups gradually increased with the increase of age under the different age conditions (P <0.05). The T1 and T2 values in the central zone of each age group did not increase with age See significant changes, the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05). Conclusion The diameter and volume of the whole prostate and the central region increase with the increase of age. The total volume of the central region increases proportionally with age, but remains within a certain range. T2 signal intensity in peripheral zone of prostate gradually increased with age, T1 signal intensity gradually weakened with age; there was no significant change in T1, T2 signal intensity in central area.
