堆焊是修复磨耗车轮的一条有效途径。铁道车辆车轮受到严重的磨耗。车辆制动、加速和通过弯道都会使车轮的踏面磨损,逐渐磨出一道很宽的深沟。特别是当轮子通过弯通时的横向力会造成轮箍上踏面和轮缘之间过渡区域的严重磨损,在大多数悄况下轴向磨耗和径向磨耗同时存在,导致轮廓减小。采取车削的方法恢复车轮的原来轮廓自然是可以的,但这种方法有一个致命的缺点。切削去除了大量没磨耗的金属。既浪费了大量工时,又使车轮直径变小。
Surfacing is an effective way to repair worn wheels. Railroad vehicle wheels suffered severe wear.
