Since the report of sulfonamides and some antibiotic-induced kidney damage, the impact of drugs on the kidneys has drawn increasing attention. After extensive research, it has been found that there are many kinds of antibiotics, antipyretic and analgesics, heavy metals, anticancer drugs and contrast agents are potentially dangerous to cause kidney damage. The damage to the kidneys caused by the drug is strongly related to the amount of the drug used. In general, if the amount of the drug is strictly controlled within the safe range, renal damage will not occur or will be rare. However, due to drug metabolism, the mechanism of excretion is not exactly the same as the threshold amount of drug-induced renal damage due to differences in individual, age, ethnicity, and patient’s underlying renal function. Generally believed that the main drugs can cause kidney damage are: (-) Therapeutic drugs
