To actively push forward the strategic readjustment of the economic structure, especially the readjustment of the industrial structure, is the key to the implementation of the strategy for the great development of the western region. In recent years, the industrial structure in the western region has been improved to a certain extent, but it still can not meet the requirements of market changes and industrial upgrading. The main existing problems are: poor conditions for agricultural production and low income for peasants; over-reliance on resources for development has not yet brought about economic advantages; the level of industrial technology is low and competitiveness is poor; the development of the tertiary industry lags behind and the market is underdeveloped. This has left the products and enterprises in the western region in a very unfavorable position in the domestic and international market competition and have greatly affected the economic development and the people’s livelihood in the western region
