The literature reported two outbreaks of food-borne Giardiasis diarrhea that were caused when the chef polluted both hands with salmon and pasta salad. Piper flagellates can also be spread by water, and it is possible to ingest this pathogen when drinking untreated surface water. As for human-human communication, it is more common in nurseries and institutions. During an outbreak of food-borne diarrhea, medical staff should think of the possibility of Pythium pyri related disease. In March 1988, 21 food-borne Giardiasis outbreaks occurred in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The incidence of the disease is concentrated in a church members of the YMCA, they have the habit of dinner once a week.
