Recently, the Fujian Provincial People’s Social Club held a “Reiz start-up, gathering momentum for further” social security theme forum to celebrate the Fujian province enterprise pension insurance co-ordination and social labor insurance agencies set up the 25th anniversary of the Deputy Director Lai Shi-qing To attend a meeting. Since its establishment in 1987, Fujian’s social security work has been conducted for 25 years. Over the past 25 years, the social labor insurance in Fujian Province has achieved scientific development, leapfrog development and rapid expansion in coverage. The retirees in the province have fully shared the achievements in social development and the level of protection has been continuously improved. The number of people participating in the basic old-age insurance in the province increased from 687,000 in 1987 to 362,200 in the end of 2011, an increase of 8.26 times. The income of the basic pension insurance fund increased from 22.79 million yuan in 1987 to the end of 2011
