Normal inner ear distribution of a variety of immunoglobulins and immunocompetent cells. Changes in the middle ear can affect the immune environment of the inner ear. The inner ear effectively processes antigens and produces antibodies, causing a local and systemic immune response. Endolymphatic sac is a key part of the inner ear immunity. There are a variety of immunocompetent cells and lymphokines in the inner ear immune response, which may play a protective or damaging effect on inner ear function. This article also discusses the possible mechanisms of autoimmune inner ear disease.
