对于刘表,人们都不觉得陌生;但说起他,却往往是同“豚犬”之类的蠢物联系着。刘表到底是怎样一个人呢?让我们摒弃头脑中的成见,透过历史的尘封,重新探寻一下他的一生吧。 1 刘表字景升,山阳高平人,据说是西汉景帝的后裔。他少年时代曾随同郡经学家王畅求学,深受儒家学说的熏陶。从他与王畅的谈话可以看出,他对儒学的中庸之道很有兴致;而这对他性格的形成及其人生经历都有着深刻的影响。
