自有史以来,无机物、金属及金属盐类早就供药用。在许多生物过程中许多金属离子起着维持生命的作用。但是具有生物活性的新型有机分子的设计广泛而深入地吸引着人们的注意力,从而掩没了新型含金属化合物作为治疗剂的研究。然而近年来某些金属已显示它们与特异性治疗效果相关。借助新型精密检测仪器以及分析方法,已促使生物无机化学迅猛发展。近年来有关金属与金属络合物应用于生物学和医学、各种金属化合物的临床用途以及这些化合物与有机分子间相互作用的利弊,特别是铂络合物对肿瘤的化学治疗的效果都已有不少综述报道。本综述试图证实一些较新的金属化合物以及早已吸引人们特别注意的旧金属化合物的生物活性是归因于该化合物所含的金属的作用;由于不同金属之间的构-效关系已不存在,所以本文按周期表中金属的位置顺序叙述。

This review attempts to demonstrate that the biological activity of some newer metal compounds and older metal compounds that have drawn particular attention for a long time is attributed to the role of the metal contained in the compound. Since the structure-activity relationship between the different metals is absent, Therefore, this article describes the position of the metal in the periodic table.
