当年的《大公报》名牌记者，新中国成立后曾任《人民日报》社长、国家科委副主席的范长江先生，在1937年写了一篇《南口喋血记》。他在文中动情地写道：“汤恩伯，这个铁汉子，他不要命了。这确是厉害。十三军从军长到勤务兵，他们全不要命了!大家都把一条命决心拼在了民族解放战争的火线上……”
In the same year, Mr. Fan Changjiang, a famous reporter of “Ta Kung Pao” and former chairman of “People’s Daily” and vice chairman of the State Science and Technology Commission after the founding of People’s Republic of China, wrote in 1937 a book called “The South Side Bloodshed.” He passionately wrote in the text: “TANG Enbo, this iron man, he does not fate .This is indeed a powerful thirteenth army from the commander to attendants, they are not fatal! We all put a life and determination in the national liberation The fire of war ... ”
