我出身在一个工人家庭,父亲、母亲都是火柴工人。在旧社会里,虽然一家人做工,还是无钱供给我读书,因此,十一岁就失学了。为了生活,我擦过皮鞋,卖过香烟、火柴,十二岁就随父亲进火柴厂做工。但在那吃人的社会里,虽然不分日夜的干活,我们工人还是经常失业。我断断续续地做了十年火柴工。 1952年12月,组织上把我调到中南工人日报社。像我这样一个普通工人,文化水平低得可怜,在旧社会里,做梦也想不到,能当上一名新闻记者。社会主义制度给工人阶级带来了无限广阔的前程,过去不敢幻想的事情,如今变成了事实,党把我由一个普通工人培养成了新闻记者。从工人到记者是经过一段艰苦过程的。几年来,
