Whenever I sat down in my office in recent days, Iwould like to see the signature written by the students fromAustralia and thought of their characters and smiling.Upon the invitation of the No.9 Middle School ofLiaoyang City, the Australian students went to the city totake part in the Artistic Party held by the No.9 School onMay 19, 2006. In Liaoyang, they made friends with theChinese students, studied the paper-cut, gave aperformance in the party as well as enjoyed every momentwith the Chinese students and teachers. Perhaps, theywould never forget the Chinese food, particularly the porkslices (Guo Bao Rou). After the party, they visited the Guangyou Temple.Iwas told by Miss Liu Chenxi, project coordinator from theCenter for Youth Development China-Australia LiaoningAcademy of Social Sciences, that the Australian studentswould study in Liaoning for a year, where they would studythe Chinese language, the Chinese culture and someChinese history. In the future, they would be diplomats, orfind a job relating to the friendship between the two countries.Miss Liu said that their parents were once from theRepublic of Korea, France, Greece, Britain, or Italy. I wishhere that they would be happy every day in China, andmake some contributions for the friendship betweenAustralia and China as soon as possible.
