Zhang Yi, aged 22, received a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Zhejiang University. She went to the United States to pursue a Ph.D. in polymer engineering. Then she worked as one of the project leaders at Guidant and Medtronic, one of the Fortune 500 companies.
