唐代诗人张继名落孙山之后,心情非常郁闷,便前往苏州散心,投宿于寒山寺旁的客船。从傍晚到夜里张继一直站在船头望着苏州城,心境亦如那晚风凄清寒冷,于是他随口吟出《枫桥夜泊》:“月落乌啼霜满天,江枫渔火对愁眠。姑苏城外寒山寺,夜半钟声到客船。”此诗不但使寒山寺出了名,而且让后人记住了怀才不遇的诗人张继。
After the Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Jiashan fell, the mood is very depressed, they went to Suzhou to relax, stay in Hanshan Temple next to the passenger ship. From the evening to the night Zhang Ji has been standing in the bow looking at the Suzhou City, mood is as cold as the breeze of the night, so he casually chant “Night Maple Bridge”: Melancholy. Gushan outside the Hanshan Temple, the night bell to the passenger ship. "This poem not only made the name of Hanshan Temple, but also to enable future generations to remember the unforgettable poet Zhang JI.
