烟台市档案馆馆藏国家重点档案之一——东海关档案全宗形成于1862年(清同治元年)至1949年,历经清朝末期、三民主义革命、日伪政权和解放战争等历史阶段,是我国现存旧海关档案中最为系统完整的一个全宗,也是具有较高研究价值的历史档案信息资源,被当代史学界、经济学界称为“瑰宝”。东海关档案不仅见证了烟台沦为半殖民地半封建社会那段屈辱的历史,也为后人留下了中国海关和烟台社会在那个时期的发展历程。
