After the disaster, I visited some grassroots units in urban and rural areas and held informal discussions on how to carry forward the spirit of resistance and further strengthen the building of the party. We talked with cadres and the masses in the relevant departments of counties, townships, villages and cities. It is generally believed that there are five beneficial revelation of the struggle against flood in further strengthening party building: First, we must uphold the party’s leading position. In the fight against floods, we can mobilize tens of millions of people into emergency work, organize the transfer of various materials and coordinate their command in an orderly manner. If we can not get away from party leadership, we can not imagine it. At the critical moment of fighting against flooding, some grassroots party organizations and cadres are most worried about losing contact with the higher party organizations. Some comrades recalled the political turmoil at the turn of the spring and summer of 1989 and contacted the current country
