整体审视本期黑龙江作家的小说新作,笔者以为,在小说技法上,《白日梦》、《石头房子盗窃案》最为优胜,而像《沸腾的生活》、《好消息》在情节的安排、人物的塑造、主题的凝炼等方面还有进一步提高的空间。若从精神取向上看,笔者倒更赞许《王家大院里的人物》、《白天不懂夜的黑》、《力工》等作品,这些作品无论是深入历史,还是直面现实,都能够彰显出较为浓郁的人文精神,他们更愿意关注人性、关注历史、关注生存的意义等重要问题,虽然他们对相关问题的理解和把握还存在着常识化乃至概念化的些许弊病,但这种精神指向还是值得肯定和期许的。——汪树东
