戈东(Jean Gaudon)教授是法国雨果研究界“大师级”的人物。这“大师级”三字不是我的形容词。1990年,有三位雨果专家在巴黎索邦大学作雨果专题的讲演,主持人布吕内尔(PierreBrunel)教授本人也是法国文学研究大师级的专家,是他向听众介绍时称戈东为雨果研究的“大帅”, 戈东教授又是法国雨果专家中惟一来我国访问过的人。1985年,雨果逝世100周年,戈东曾来我国武汉大学、北京大学等学校,参加我国学术界纪念雨果的活动,他的几次讲演,至今给我国学者留下了深刻的印象。我1989年访问法国时,曾专程拜访过他,我们当时的谈话主题,是他正在编定出版的《雨果通信全集》。当时第一卷由拉丰出版社(Pobert Laffont)出版。1000页左右,仅收信600余封,包括的年
Prof. Jean Gaudon is a “master” in Hugo’s research community in France. This “master” is not my adjective. In 1990, three Hugo experts gave lectures on Hugo’s topic at the Sorbonne University in Paris. The host, Professor Pierre Brunel himself, is also a master expert in French literature studies.
