体育是整个社会活动的组成部分,体育的发展是受一定的社会条件下的政治、经济的制约,反之又为一定的社会政治、经济服务的,体育的发展水平是体现一定社会政治、经济兴衰的一部分。增强人民体质、提高运动水平在当今社会中将越来越受到人们的重视,人们将提高体育水平、在国际竞赛中取得优异成绩来激励国家的经济发展,提高国家的威望、增强人民的士气。因此,体育的重要地位和作用将日益显著。
