我国民间流传着“水果分公母,母的比公的好吃”的说法,还有“歪瓜裂枣更甜”的传言。这一民间鉴别方法涵盖了苹果、梨、橘子、橙子、西瓜等常见水果。水果真得分公母吗?这一民间鉴定方法是,水果底部的“肚脐”凹进去的是母的,凸出来的是公的。例如苹果果蒂大、皮薄的被认为是母苹果,反之是公的。梨底部凹进去比较深、个大光滑的被认为是母梨,而公梨底部是凸出来的,而且形状不规则。橘子和橙子脐部圆圈较大、个大皮薄是母的,公的则脐部较小呈椭圆形、皮厚个小。
