The U.S. New York Times January 31, 1980 WASHINGTON: The National Institutes of Health announced that U.S. scientists will begin clinical trials of a new contraceptive that is effective for both men and women. This new method uses hormonal proteins called peptides instead of the estrogens contained in common female contraceptives.
