The “New Poetry” and “Old Poems” in the May 4th Movement are not the boundaries of pure literature but the judgment of morality. In the Wusi-style debate framework of “Wen / Bai ”, “Dead / Alive ” and “Good / Evil ”, new poetry has been functionally separated from the old poem: the new poetry is carried into the public enlightenment Of the cultural square, the old poem is retired to express the spirit of personal taste of private ownership, modern intellectuals sense of enlightenment responsibility and the traditional literati interest constitutes a confrontation of harmony. It is precisely in the ambiguous attitude that the new writers of the May Fourth Movement split the boundaries between the new poetry and the old poetry and turned out to be “new and old” and “often and changed”.
