Hutai Road is the major traffic artery linking Shanghai and Jiangsu Provinces, and it is also the main external traffic trunk line in Baoshan District. It has a total length of 28.116km. Hutai Road Extension and Reconstruction Project with a total investment of 460 million yuan is being implemented. The reconstructed Hutai Road is a national first-class highway standard. Its red line width is 40m, and the cross-section layout is 4 lanes, 2 lanes and 6 lanes. The machine is not diverted and the concrete pavement is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 1994.
