奥运会为何要从希腊采集火种?火,是人类文明的象征。古希腊神话中,是火神普罗米修斯从上天盗取火种,教给人类使用,奥林匹亚山是众神的栖息之所,所以每届古代奥运会之前,人们都会按宗教的仪式在祭坛上点燃火种,纪念火神,然后持火炬跑遍各城邦,传达奥运会即将开始的讯息,各城邦必须休战,忘掉仇恨与战争,积极准备参加奥运会的竞技比赛。
