General Secretary Xi Jinping and the party Central Committee attached great importance to the construction of think tanks and emphasized the role of think tanks. In May 2017, special think tank forums were held during the “One Belt and One Road” summit. The overcapacity in China’s energy industry, especially in the coal industry, necessitates the transformation and development of enterprises, and the transformation faces new environment, new variables, new problems and new challenges. Therefore, energy companies must not only clearly define the development strategy, but also adjust the innovation from the development path and strategy, and the energy company’s strategy and path to transformation.
