根艺将人们带入一种返璞归真的思想境界和高层次艺术享受的空间。在现实创作中,有些创作者往往偏离、违背了根艺应有的创作原则及特点。为了根艺能健康发展,笔者浅陋地谈谈根艺创作中的几点想法,旨在抛砖引玉,共同探讨。一、根艺与木雕有根本区别在根艺创作中太过于要求形似逼真,大面积精雕细刻,显然与根艺的特点不相符合。罗丹说:“美在自然。”这话引用在根艺创作中尤为适宜。根艺是树根的艺术,是利用树根所呈现的自然、奇异、富有韵味的形象进行浓缩、点化的艺术。观察根的自然形态,发现形象从而产生创作灵感是根艺创作中的第一步骤。它的创作意向首先是受客观条件制约而处于被动地位,但其成形的物象又是先天所赐的。木雕则与根艺在创作形式上截然相反。木雕先有创作物象的构意,按一定的规律展现思想中固有的物象而立意在先,这是其主要特点。
