Anatomy of the dorsal latissimus dorsi flap during cardiac angioplasty The heart forming process involves the use of transplanted skeletal muscle to enhance cardiac pump function or repair after heart wall resection. In order to establish the relationship between the main thoracolumbar blood supply and distal blood supply from the intercostal artery and the lumbar artery, the distribution of intramuscular blood vessels in latissimus dorsi was studied.
