Objective To investigate the changes of CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cells (Tregs) in peripheral blood of children with lupus nephritis (LN) and its significance. Methods The percentage of CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cells in peripheral blood of 30 children with LN (LN group) and 30 healthy children (control group) was detected by flow cytometry. The percentage of CD4 + CD25 + And lupus activity index (SLE-DAI) relationship. Results The levels of CD4 + CD25 + Tregs in peripheral blood of children with LN were significantly lower than those of the control group (P <0.01). The levels of CD4 + CD25 + Tregs were negatively correlated with 24-hUMA and negatively correlated with SLE-DAI. Conclusion The abnormal percentage of CD4 + CD25 + Tregs in peripheral blood of children with LN may be involved in the onset and development of LN. The percentage of CD4 + CD25 + Tregs was negatively correlated with 24-hUMA, and negatively correlated with SLE-DAI, suggesting that it may be used as an indicator of the prognosis of children with LN.
