冬牧70黑麦系禾本科黑麦属一年生草本植物。1979年从美国引进。在上海地区试种具有适应性广,耐寒,分蘖力和再生力强等特点,并具有丰产性、耐牧性、营养价值高等综合优势。据江苏太湖地区农科所介绍,其干草含粗蛋白质17.9％,粗脂肪7.10％,粗纤维15.74％,粗灰分9.38％,钙0.45％,磷0.46％。因其营养价值高,我们把它当作牲畜的“冬令补品”。冬牧70黑麦幼苗匍匐于地面,根系多而发达,可延扎到地下100厘米深。抗倒,成形全株可高达160—180厘米,茎上有4—5个节,叶是深绿色,每茎有6个叶片,长22—24厘米,宽0.3厘米。穗有长芒,呈双排扁平长方形,穗长15.2厘米,宽1.2厘米,浅黄色,每穗有实粒68个左右,种子狭长无壳,千粒重26.8克左右。冬牧70黑麦出苗一个月后株高即达28厘
