Plastipore is a porous polyethylene material introduced in the 1970s. Tissue can be inserted into small holes to fix it to the middle ear. Sometimes this inflammatory response to the ingrowth may be the cause of hearing loss and exclusion of prostheses . Ceravital is a special kind of bioactive glass ceramic, which is fixed to middle ear through the chemical reaction between ceramic and bone. The purpose of this article is to compare the hearing and rejection rates of both. A total of 112 patients were randomly selected. Forty of them were partially pseudopulsed with Plasti-pore and 20 were completely prostheses. Forty of the patients were partially prostheses with Ce-ravital, and 20 were completely prostheses. 100 cases were followed up for more than 6 months, 80 cases were followed up for more than 3 years. The mean follow-up time was 36.7 months in the Cera-Vital group and 36.5 months in the Plastipore group. The report involved 69 cases made 80 ossicular chain reconstruction follow-up
