Guiyu is a small town in Shantou, Guangdong Province. A large number of trucks come from the coast every day. In recent years, this remote town has recovered more than 200,000 tons of common metals such as iron and copper annually, making it the largest distribution center for electronic waste in China. 11 categories of waste electrical appliances can be seen everywhere. The State Environmental Protection Administration and the General Administration of Customs clearly banned the import of waste TV sets and picture tubes, waste computers, waste displays, and display tubes.
