1997年,华中科技大学创造性地提出了“育人为本,三足鼎立”的办学思想,即以培养高素质创造性人才为根本,教学、科研、产业化三足鼎立、协调发展。目前,华中科技大学确立并基本形成了以“三个层次、三条主线”为网络的产学研研发体系,科技产业发展也有了质的飞跃,形成了校内建R&D中心,学校周边建孵化器,在社会上办大学科技园的“三级跳”发展模式,逐步走出了一条具有华中科技大学特色的科技成果持续有效转化之路,成为“武汉·中国光谷”光电子信息产业基地发展中的一支重要力量。本刊编辑部特别推出《总裁论述》专栏,并就华中科技大学科技产业发展及相关情况采访了华中科技大产业集团董事长王延觉先生。
