综观库切的小说创作,库切通过想象的文本世界严肃地思考历史与政治、殖民与霸权;暴力与社会秩序所影响下的种种情境,探讨了复杂的异化力量所造成的人的主体性的消解:人的他者化;人的被客体化;人的过度理性化。面对他者化、客体化以及过度理性化所带来的人的异化,库切在他的作品中也试图探索克服异化复归人性之路。但总体而言,库切选择的仍旧是一条异化了的自我救赎之路——逃避。
Looking at the works of Coetzee’s novel, Coetzee ponders on the various situations under the influence of violence and social order by examining the world of the imagined texts with serious consideration of history and politics, colonialism and hegemony, and explores the subjectivity of man as a result of complex alienation forces Digestion: the other person; others are objectified; people’s excessive rationalization. In the face of the dissimilation of others caused by the otherness, objectification and over-rationalization, Coetzee tries to explore the ways of overcoming the alienated humanity. However, on the whole, what Chocherian chose is still an alienated way of self-salvation - escape.
