After the North Korea broke out in 1882, the Chinese businessmen began to enter the North Korean market. The conclusion of the China-North Korea Treaty on Land and Water Trade of Merchants provided the legal guarantee for the smooth development of China-North Korea trade. In the past, many scholars thought that Incheon was the most concentrated area for Chinese businessmen, and most of the researches on Chinese merchants and overseas Chinese in Korea were mainly Incheon. However, according to the statistics of related archives, the Chinese businessmen originating from Shandong in the 80s-90s in the 19th century mainly concentrated in Seoul. This paper mainly examines the archives of the Institute of Modern History in Taiwan and analyzes the numbers and shops of Shandong merchants stationed in Seoul since the modern trade between China and the DPRK and probes into the reasons for the changes. Some Features of Seoul Businessmen in Seoul.
