编写化学史的目的是以辯証唯物主义与历史唯物主义的观点来叙述化学发展的历史,以馬列主义毛泽东思想作为武器来批判形形色色的资产阶级唯心主义观点,恢复被資产阶级歪曲了的化学历史的本來面貌。化学的发展和其他科学的发展一样,它决定于社会的生产方式,并充满着唯心主义思想与唯物主义思想的斗爭。化学工作者必須做一个自觉的辯証唯物主义者,才能正确认識和掌握化学发展的客观规律,在促进我国化学事业高速度发展中,貢献最大的力量。关于化学史的分期问題,我們基本上以人类社会的历史分期作为化学史分期的线索。同时,也考虑到科學发展的相对独立性。全书共分四篇:一、古代化学;二、近代化学;三、現代化学状况;四、社会主义——化学发展的全新时代。而在各个时期内基本上是按照学科的发展来编写的。(見附表) 编写时我們首先着眼在現代,尤其詳细地編写了苏联四十年来化学发展的道路和我国十年来化学科学的发展。从中可看出社会主义制度的无比优越,它为科学的发展創造了极为有利的条件。参加这次化学史编写工作的大多数是青年学生,进行工作只有两个月,学习有关化学史的知識还很少。虽然在编写过程中得到多方面的大力支持、帮助和指导,但由于思想水平和业务水平有限,在这里一定会出現一些錯誤和不妥之处,我們先把化学史大綱在这里发表,主要是爭取更多的同志們的帮助。恳切希望化学界的同志,特别是高等学校比学系的师生同志能对我們提出宝貴的意見,让我們大家一起协作、共同努力,使我們大家所迫切需要的化学史编得更好、更完善。 The purpose of writing chemistry history is to narrate the history of chemical development from the viewpoints of dialectical materialism and historical materialism.
