慈溪市新浦镇中心小学坐落于杭州湾畔,校园环境优雅,设施齐全,是一所现代化的新型学校。学校是全国学生营养与健康示范学校、省示范小学、宁波市级举重训练点。举重是该校的特色项目。1991年11月,学校建立举重队,经过21个春秋的辛勤耕耘,获宁波市冠军62个,打破4项浙江省记录,连续5届获宁波市全民运动会青少年举重比赛团体冠军。同时,学校也很重视学生的整体素质培养,
