“村支书要想当得长,要会搞经济,要会做党群工作,要为老百姓干实事。”王连明这样总结自己的工作心得,到2012年,他担任通州区漷县镇草厂村党支部书记一职已经18年。18年,王连明带领草厂村从一个贫穷落后、鲜有人问津的小村庄蜕变为京郊闻名的蔬菜种植专业村;18年,他让村民脱下了面朝黄土、背朝天的传统外衣;18年,他带领村支部开创了“支部引路、党员带路、群众上路”的百姓致富之路。2005年王连明被评为北京市劳模,2010年被评为全国劳模。18年,他用一连串的荣誉见证了“默默甘当孺子牛”的人生之路。
