In this work, a novel FM AM amplitude phasic stimulator with simple structure and convenient operation was used to accurately determine the frequency discrimination threshold (Δf) and intensity discrimination threshold (Δf) of human beings (using psychophysical methods) and guinea pigs (electrophysiological methods) (ΔI) and phase discrimination threshold (Δ). In subjects with normal hearing, the measured Δf was 1.3 ± 0.6 pps (pulsespersec, hereinafter the same editor’s note), the ΔI was 0.4 ± 0.2 dB and the Δφ was 0.9 ± 0.3 °.
